A Single-Hydrophone Coherent-Processing Method for Line-Spectrum Enhancement

Improving the line-spectrum detection capability of a single hydrophone is great significance for passive small underwater platforms. In this paper, we propose single-hydrophone cross-power spectrum (SHCS) method based on time-domain coherence. This uses coherence line and non-coherence continuous noise to obtain coherent gain improve signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) spectrum. The effects input SNR, number averaging operations, overlap performance SHCS under background Gaussian white are simulated analyzed. results show that when 0 operations reaches saturation, can achieve best about 15 dB obtained. was verified by sea experiments. Under extremely low in which almost completely submerged marine environmental noise, 10 gain. conventional could be observed, 13 processing radiated from an actual cargo ship also demonstrate effectiveness method.
